ScooterDave in Cinci 0

Posted on March 05, 2007 by Dave

dave-dave.jpgI just returned from a weekend in Cincinnati, where I dressed up like a penguin for the American Heart Association Gala. But the best part of the weekend had to be the open house at Autobaun Craftwerks where I met ScooterDave and a host of others from the Vulcan Scooter Sect. What a bunch of great guys! Lenn, the owner of Autobaun has been restoring vintage motorbikes for years and had a handful of beauties on the showroom floor. He is a talented painter and has a boatload of vintage bike parts in the back of the shop. Lenn is the local Bajaj dealer and has an assortment of other used scooters for sale.

The shop also serves as a meetup place for the Vulcans and other more elderly folks interested in both bikes and scoots…yes we can coexist. As Dave said, Lenn just likes having people stop by and hang out. They rewarded me for having come so far to the open house with trinkets and souvenirs, but I think what really impressed them was Marcel. My social butterfly of a wife went with me and as usual charmed a room full of strangers. Even after all these years, I have much to learn from her.

Listen to the next SCTCST, I will have more details about this trip and a visit to meet Ed at Vespa Cini, now in Milford, OH.
