Episode 32 - Interview with Bimbo from the Vespinoy Website
Shownotes - What a week. I have been back and forth across Virginia, Up late, helping Marcel pack the car to leave for Denver and Sunday I hopped out of bed at 4 a.m. to catch an early flight to Colorado to meet Marcel and get our town home setup so she can work either from Denver or Richmond. This may all sound like a strange way to live, but our lives and our work have been this way for quite a few years now. We have found ourselves reflecting on what an unconventional life we have had, living in Colorado, Texas, Virginia and Ohio. If not for this strange lifestyle, I probably would have never started into scooting, which I picked up as a convenient transport when we were in San Antonio and we would never have had the opportunity to travel and meet so many of our relatives in Italy.
On this show, I would like to invite you to travel with me to southeast Asia and listen to another scooter enthusiast from around the world. This past week I had the privileged to speak to Bimbo Isidro of Manila. You may not know him by name, but you probably have heard for his website www.vespinoy.com. We spent some time talking last week about scootering in his area, his other websites and how he is helping to bring together the scooter community in that part of the world.
Scooter news and blog posts
- As far as I am concerned, this week has been all about Alix’s PEACE ride into Crawford Texas. You can decide for yourself, are these kind of protests worth it? Of course you know that I think they are, so a big shout out to Alix, Thanks for speaking up!
- The CNN video link thanks to 2strokebuzz
- The Scooter Scoop Blog Post
- Modern Vespa workshop in Richmond, VA
- And last, in honor of this show’s guest I have included a Vespinoy post on the 30th anniversary of the Vespa PX. I guess we should say happy birthday to all of our PX friends out there (like Orin) As the they would say in Italy, trenta anni di divertimento, thirty years of fun.

Great interview! We’ve always looked up to the people behind motorcyclephilippines.com. Kudos to Mr. Bimbo Isidro!
Just a reaction to the last few lines I’ve heard with regards to riding along the Philippine coast line. Problem is, it’s very limited. Most of the country’s highways run inland.
But, as Mr. Isidro has mentioned, riding in the country is great… especially outside urban jungle that is Metro Manila.

Nice one Bimbo. More power to Vespinoy (blog and forum). It’s simply the best! Like the song. hehehe.
To Dave, a big thank you for bringing some attention to Asian Vespa enthusiasts in our site.
Mabuhay.
PS, As you’ve said in this interview about coming… we shall expect you here in the Philippines then… looking forward.
