The reason Stella looks so much like the Vespa P200 is it is a Vespa P200. Vespa licensed LML in India to produce the P200 and they made them for a number of years. The owner of Scooterworks in Chicago went overseas in early 2000 and began importing LML's scooter as the Genuine Scooter Stella. This continued until several years ago when production problems forced them to stop making the Stella. Phil at Scooterworks proceeded to develop the Genuine scooter line, but continued to get requests for the Stella. He spent time this past year, making arrangements for quality improvements and is importing a limited run to the USA. It is not clear whether this will continue past this year. Everyone who has seen the new Stella says it looks very good. My shop here in Richmond (a Genuine dealer) is suppose to get a few in the spring. Hopefully I will get a chance to ride one.

Hi Dave.

Congratulations on your first year anniversary. Yours was the first scooter podcast I found and I continue to enjoy it. I got my scooter last April so SCTRCST was very beneficial to me in terms of information and inspiration for my first year of riding. Now, I have a question for you. What is the deal with the Stella? Is this a Vespa under another name? Or is it a knockoff? What's their quality like? So many questions, so little time. Again, thanks for a great year and keep up the good work.

Safe riding.
Errol

P.S. Throw my name in the hat for the Nano.

Congratulations on your first year. We are very happy that we found you. We just got a Mini Cooper S to go with our Vespa LX150s and then we read your Nov 18th post where you talked about your 2 Minis. We love ours and sounds like you really enjoy yours too.
