Vespa licensed LML in India to produce the P200 and they made them for a number of years. The owner of Scooterworks in Chicago went overseas in early 2000 and began importing LML's scooter as the Genuine Scooter Stella. This continued until several years ago when production problems forced them to stop making the Stella. Phil at Scooterworks proceeded to develop the Genuine scooter line, but continued to get requests for the Stella. He spent time this past year, making arrangements for quality improvements and is importing a limited run to the USA. It is not clear whether this will continue past this year. Everyone who has seen the new Stella says it looks very good. My shop here in Richmond (a Genuine dealer) is suppose to get a few in the spring. Hopefully I will get a chance to ride one.
