my wife & I were in Vietnam this summer and I was surprised by the number of Sym Fiddles there. They weren’t as common as the Honda super cub and clones, but they were a stronger presence than Kymco (which I expected to more popular).

Hello, I am also just completing a virtually identical rebuild of a Falcon. Mine was in pretty much the same condition as yours to start with and took (by the sounds of it) a similar amount of time. Never quite sure if it is worth doing but it’s one of those things you take as a challenge and then can’t stop. I still have a few bits to find (tool box, chainguard and rear tail light - I see yours is missing too) but I’m sure they will make themselves available at some point in time. Thanks for posting the photos, it’s nice to know there are a few more “persistent twits” around.

Ed Reggi is definitely NOT a St. Louis Scooter Legend. Most of tales are fabrications and lies. Ed Reggi rides maxi scooters and tells his club members that their opinions don’t matter since they aren’t a “founder” of the club. His acting sucks too.

Very cool project bike. From time to time I think I need something like that to keep my hands and mind occupied. And then I remember all the unfinished projects I have. Someday though.

Cold weather has settled in here in the central part of Pennsylvania. I don’t like it but know I’ll adapt and scoot on as conditions permit.

My GTS has become a daily rider and although I still take my vintage Vespas out on the weekend I never worry about getting stranded. The 250i is a very good choice, althouhg if youi wait a bit, you can pickup the 2008 300s

I am also in the middle of buying a new motorbike and have decided on a Vespa 250i. I have read the story about the aircraft engineer at Piaggio who designed it. My last bike was a BMW K1200S - I sold it when I moved from Austalia to Hong Kong.

I was very late in finding out about the demise of Vespadition and like you felt it was an exciting undertaking. Regardless of what happened I think you are exactly right in your assessment of the scooter community. God help the fellow had he been the supported child of HOG or other biker organizations….

Dave, I appreciate your restraint from jumping on the witch-hunt-bandwagon when mentioning the demise of Vespadition. V-dition ended because the sponsor of the scooter asked for it to be returned. NOT because I wished for it to end. Some terrible allegations and accusations were made about me and V-dition by an anonymous person. I have taken the appropriate steps to clear my name and reputation - including filing with the appropriate law enforcement agencies (state and federal) that handle such matters. I am confident that the person resonsible for this will be discovered, revealed and proven to be what THEY really are. Furthermore, I will clear my name and reputation and restore the true ideals of V-dition.
I thank you and those in the scooter community for their support of V-dition, and when this is all investigated and the resolved, I hope they will feel good about their own kindness.

I agree, it seems that most of the scooter coverage right now is about saving money. I am sure this sells scooters, but I imagine that once you hope on that new ride, you end up realizing it is about more than money.
